Mildred McClay

Mildred Maybelle McClay, age 96 of Groveport, Ohio departed this life January 19, 2023. Mildred was born September 25, 1926 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio to Harry and Flora Hayes.  She married Charles Renwick McClay August 21, 1948.

She is preceded in death by her children Joan, Robert, Charles, and Diane, her sister Alice (Russell) Horst, brother Roger (Blanche) Hayes, brother Don Hayes and sister-in-law Elizabeth Hayes. She is survived by children; Judith (Robert) McDonnell of Groveport, Ohio, Richard (Deborah) McClay of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and William McClay of Lancaster, Ohio.  Her grandchildren include Flora (Al) Lelikov,  Brent McClay, Dean McDonnell, Candice (Dan) Guth, Ryan McClay, Emily McClay, and Lydia (Richard) Featheringill; 4 great grandchildren Lucian and Alice Lelikov, Augustus Guth, and Michael James Featheringill; brother William Hayes and sister-in-law Ruth Hayes.
She is a graduate of Reynoldsburg High School and Tarkio College.  In addition to being a homemaker, Mildred also worked as a teacher and phone operator.  Mildred was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Reynoldsburg.  The family would like to thank the many caregivers and helpful staff at Capital City Hospice and The Inn at Winchester Trail for their tender loving care.
Visitation will be January 24, 2023 at 11 a.m. with a memorial service following at 1 p.m. at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E Main St, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.  Interment will be January 25, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 E Main St, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
