Adam High Obituary

Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Adam F. High, 89, of Hebron, Ohio found peace with the Lord on April 21, 2024 at Violet Springs Health Campus in Pickerington, Ohio. He was born to E.F. “Blackie” and Kathryn Glenn High on January 12,1935 in Columbus, Ohio. He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Buzz High, sister Joanne Carolyn (High) Reiss, daughter Renee High and many loved cousins. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carolyn (Klein) High Sons Adam T High (Gina) High, Erik J (Holly) High and Daughter Andrea (High) Underwood and son in law William F. “Woody” Underwood.

He was loving known as Poppy Adam by his grandchildren: Austin (Taylor) Underwood, Jake (Kaitlyn) High, Zach (Kaylee) High, Tyler (Alexis) High, Amanda High, Luke High, Peyton Underwood and his Great-Grandchildren: Josephine Underwood, Oaklynn Underwood, Adalynn High and two more arriving this summer. He also leaves behind several nephews and nieces. Adam was a graduate of South High School in 1953, and continued his education at Capital University. He left Capital to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corps on a two year tour from 1956 to 1958. Most of his service was spent attached to the USS Bremerton of the Pacific Fleet. He then finished his degree in business and accounting in 1962. In 1959 he married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn. With her support over the next 65 years, he went on to establish several successful companies. Architectural landscape design, construction and real estate were his primary ventures with the help of his family. In his spare time, Adam enjoyed spending time with his family at Buckeye Lake, traveling, staying fit with his love for daily exercise and having conversations with everyone he came into contact with. He was never at a loss for words. The family will honor his life in a private graveside service, as per Adam’s wishes. Chaplain Nathan Nordine will be officiating.
