Alfreda Brown

Alfreda was born in Wayne, West Virginia in an old log cabin on a snowy night in December, and 87 years later the Lord took her home on a snowy December night also.

Alfreda (Davis) Brown was married to Charles D. Brown for 48 years before their divorce. Alfreda was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Thelma (Gilkerson) Davis; son, Darren Brown; as well as her brother, Roger Davis; sister, Joan Smith; sister-in-law, Lucille Davis; nieces and nephews, Frank Davis, Chris Smith, Mike Smith, Cathy Dean and Lisa Smith.

She is survived by her children, John (Milouda) Brown, Chucky (Cindy) Brown and Debbie Feeney; grandchildren, Aaron, Samantha, Adrian, Caelen, Ryan, Zahara, Irene and Isla; step-grandchildren, Josh, Kyle, Nic, Mike and Danny, along with many great-grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She loved her sweet doggies, and her cat Boo Bee. She was the most loving mother, wife and friend, always gave and gave. Her smile and laugh lit up the world with the many lives she touched.  She loved her grandchildren beyond words. Her faith and love for the Lord was immense. She wanted to make sure people would know there is a greater place than this world offered. Alfreda told them about Jesus and how to get there, and that weighed heavy on her heart, especially with her family.  She gave to charities because she wanted to make sure Veterans were honored and to help others because of the impression her father left on her.

She worked at Ohio Bell phone company as an Operator for 36 plus years and loved her job.

Alfreda's family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 4 to 5:00pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH, where her funeral service will be held at 5:00pm with her grandson, Pastor Jason Williams officiating. Interment to be held on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike (US Rt. 23) Lewis Center, OH 43035 at 1:30pm.
