Barbra Jo Plants of Columbus, Ohio, passed away at 12:37pm, Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Violet Springs Care Center, Pickerington, OH where she resided.

Barbara was born April 29, 1942 at home, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

She is the daughter of Donald Leslie and Violet Mae (Chase) Plants. Barbara never married and has no children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother Donald Issac Plants, older sister Donna Lou (Plants) McNichols, brother in law Dale Emerson McNichols, and several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. She is survived by Sister in law, Gail Ann (Foulk) Plants, niece Kelly Ann (Plants) Stromer. Her sister’s children - Kimberly Dawn (McNichols) Vandermark, husband Leslie J Vandermark (2 great nieces - Megan Dawn Vandermark (Tori (Victoria) Marie (Rousseau) Vandermark, daughter Ciara Catherine Liebold Vandermark), Makayla Nicole Vandermark), Cynthia Kay (McNichols) Catron, husband Edward B Catron (2 great nephews - Dale Brion Catron, his daughter Coralynn, Dustin Chandler Catron, his daughter Emilia (Mia) Horn, his son Mason Shawn Alexander)

Richard Dale McNichols, and Leslie Renee (McNichols) Marlo, her husband Larry Marlo, and great niece Madeline Amber Marlo. Several cousins and their families in Ohio & West Virginia, and many dear friends and their families.

On January 26, 1960, she graduated from South High School, Columbus, OH, and May 29, 1969, from Career Training Institute of Ohio, in Medical Assistant schooling. Barbara worked 8 years as Confirmation Clerk & Executive Receptionist for a large finance company, 9 years total as front desk and billing clerk for two different OB-GYN offices, and 23 years at Mount Carmel West Hospital, first 10 years in Social Services and remaining 13 years in Radiology as Department Secretary.

Barbara Loved her family, sewing, needlework, gospel singing, puzzles, and collected many inspirational quotes and poems.

Funeral service will be at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E Main St, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 on September 21. Viewing from 10am until start of service at 12 noon. Interment will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Columbus directly after.
