Betty Jean Rinehart, 87, of Reynoldsburg, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024. She was born on November 7, 1936 in Tiffin, Ohio. She began her work career working as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell. She then began working as a bank teller which she continued for many years. As a longtime member of Messiah Lutheran Church, she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also served by helping prepare the church for funeral services both in the sanctuary and for receptions. As she continued a life of service, she volunteered for the Mount Carmel East Women’s Center for several years. She was also a member of the Reynoldsburg Senior Center. In her early years, she enjoyed making ceramics and doing crafts. Later in life, she enjoyed going to breakfast with the ladies, playing Euchre, and you knew the joy she had when you saw her love of Bingo. More than anything, she loved her family and the time she got to share with them. She is preceded in death by her parents Russell & Mary (Reese) Young; husband D. Keith Rinehart; and siblings Patricia and William. Betty is survived by children Brian (Pam Coggins) Rinehart, Lisa (Dan) Nixon, and David Rinehart; grandchildren Samantha (Evan) Parkinson, Madison Rinehart, Galen Nixon, and Xander Nixon; extended family and friends.
Her family will receive friends and family Friday, May 24 from 10-11:00 at Messiah Lutheran Church 1200 South Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio with Pastor Karl Hanf officiating the service at 11:00.
