Betty Shackelford Obituary

Betty Lou Shackelford, 97, of Reynoldsburg, passed away July 25 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 2, 1927 in Etna, Ohio to the late Hewitt and Oakel (McCreary) Parkinson.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years Robert; brother Raymond Parkinson; brother Richard (Linda) Parkinson; son Roger Balser.

Betty is survived by brother Robert (Mary) Parkinson; children Coni, Rodney (Arlene) and Ronald; grandchildren Greg, Amey, Amber, Aaron, Aric, Amanda and Ryan and 10 great-grandchildren.

Betty loved to cheer on her Ohio State Buckeyes, she was an avid reader and could be found winning at the slot machines.

Family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024 at Cotner Funeral Home 7369 E. Main Street Reynoldsburg where her service will follow at 1:00 p.m officiated by Pastor Bob Mathias. Interment at Pataskala Cemetery, 9545 Creek Road.
