Brian McMenamin Obituary

Brian Kenneth Arthur McMenamin, age 79, of Canal Winchester, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 4, 2026, at his residence. He was born on May 5, 1946, in Windsor, Canada the son of the late Martin and Isabella McMenamin. The family moved to the U.S. in 1948. He became a U.S. citizen when he was 16 years old. He graduated from Finney High School in 1965.

Brian enlisted in the Army in January of 1965 to 1968. He served in Southwest Asia and Fort Campbell, Kentucky as a Specialist E5. He returned to marry the love of his life, Sandra McMenamin, on August 12, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan and together raised two sons.

Brian worked at DSCC for over 30 years and retired to care for his late in-laws Aubrey and Alvina Stibgen and wife Sandra.

Brian was a longtime member in the Church of the Nazarene, attending Pickerington, Dayspring, and Hope Community Churches of the Nazarene, and Trinity Wesleyan. It was in church where he met, fell in love with, and married his beloved Sandra. He loved sharing their love story and then would share his love of the Lord.

He never knew a stranger and enjoyed talking for hours about his church, his grandchildren, and gospel music. Brian was warmhearted and of a victorious Christian faith.

Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Isabella; his wife of 48 years, Sandra. He is survived by sons, Bradley S. (Allison) and Daniel L. (Jolissa); adored grandchildren, Collin (Carolanne); Delaney, Zachery, Zivah, and Zaelynn McMenamin; and twin brother, Martin (Susan) McMenamin; extended family and friends.

His family will receive friends on Friday, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main, Reynoldsburg, where his funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10am. Graveside service to follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, Canal Winchester, Ohio.
