Brooke Danielle Matheny, 38, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2025.

Born on October 16, 1986, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Jeffrey and Victoria Matheny. Brooke spent her childhood in the Reynoldsburg area, where she found joy in competitive gymnastics and excelled academically. She graduated from Reynoldsburg High School in 2005.

Brooke is survived by her beloved children, Kiersten Edwards and Kaiden Johnson, who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jeffrey and Victoria Matheny, her grandparents, and her brother, Ricky Dugan.

Brooke will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her fierce love for her family, and her infectious laugh. She especially loved to laugh with her children—those joyful moments were among her most cherished.

Though her life was not without struggles, she often found strength in love—love for her kids and the love she received in return.

Her memory will live on in her family, and especially in her children, who carry forward her spirit and love.

A memorial service to celebrate Brooke’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Cotner Funeral Home in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
