Elda “Bunny” Rickenbacker, 87, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 23, 2025 in Gahanna Ohio.
Bunny is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Margaret (Murvay) Fitzpatrick. Her beloved husband of 57 years, John W. Rickenbacker; her sister, Toni McFerin; brother-in-law, Jerry and nephew, Michael McFerin and grandson, Logan Rickenbacker.
Bunny is survived by her loving daughter, Amy Blazitz; sons, John (Lynn French), Ron, and Tom (Christine Duke) Rickenbacker; grandchildren, Lindsay (David) Pasqualone, Chad (Valerie) Blazitz, Chelsea (Chazz) Anderson, Travis, Hadlea, Wyatt and Jonathon Rickenbacker and nephew, Bryan McFerin; great-grandchildren, Kole, Reid, and Will Linak, Charlea, Charity, Chayden Anderson, Emmitt and Beckett Blazitz.
Bunny was a graduate of East High School where she met her husband and love of her life, John Rickenbacker. She was active in her church, loved music, singing and vaudevillities. While living in Labelle Fl. with John, she participated in community theater. Being an avid reader, she even sold World Book Encyclopedia and was a Santa’s Helper at Lazarus.
Bunny cherished family gatherings and seeing her family grow and thrive. She was devotedly strong in her faith. She left the world in the arms of God and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Bunny's family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 3 to 5:00pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH, where her funeral service will be held at 5:00pm with Pastor Chazz Anderson officiating. Private inurnment at Violet Township Cemetery, Pickerington, OH.
The Rickenbacker family suggests memorial contributions in Bunny's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association Central Ohio Chapter.
