Charles Joseph Kuskowski

Chuck Kuskowski, age 79, a long-time resident of Pickerington, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024 peacefully in the home of Pat Adams.  Born November 1, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Carl and Anna Kuskowski, Chuck was a 1962 graduate of Bishop Hartley High School in Columbus.

Chuck began working at Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric in 1962, married Pat Adams in 1965 and they moved to Pasadena, California immediately following a honeymoon to the Poconos. They returned to Columbus where he returned to work at Columbus Southern and retired from American Electric Power after 59 years of work. Chuck lived in a home in Pickerington that he designed, built and spent the next 40 years constantly changing, adding onto, and improving. Chuck loved to create.  He painted and drew, and many have his artwork. He built everything from stained glass lamps to furniture, to children’s playsets, and more than 40 crèche’s that appear in as many homes each Christmas. He never met a challenge that he didn’t believe he could figure out. He loved to go out to breakfast and doing crossword puzzles. Chuck had a singular passion for travel that included trips to over 70 different countries, every state in the US (including 47 state high points), multiple times.

He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Anna, six siblings; David, Theresa, Buddy, Mary Anne, Jeannie, and Dolores, and a grandchild Andrew.

Survived by his brother Jim, sister Betty, son David, daughter Diana, and three grandchildren Emily, Hannah, and Matthew, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Chuck will be arranged and announced by the family to be held in the coming weeks.
