Charlotte A. Conkle

Charlotte "Char" Ann Conkle, 85, Whitehall Ohio, passed away on February 26th, 2025.

Charlotte best known as Char, was born on August 26th,1939 to Charles Cross and Mary Hartley in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. In 1954, Char met the love of her life Ray "Whitey", at the Fireman's Jubilee in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. In 1957, she graduated from Reynoldsburg High School. After graduating high school, they went on to marry in December of 1957. After marriage, Char and Whitey moved to France while Whitey served in the US Army until 1959. They later moved back to Ohio where they lived out the rest of their 67 years of marriage and had three children (Douglas, Martin & Tracey). Char worked as a receptionist at Northeast School for special needs students and dedicated her life to helping people with special needs. She was involved in the Special Olympics for many years.

To Char, family came first. She devoted her time and love to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her family. She loved cooking, baking, and having big family dinners. Char also enjoyed macrame, sewing, crocheting, and taking care of her plants and flowers. Her favorite pass time was watching the Cincinatti Reds with Whitey and eating her favorite food, pizza. Char spent her last days longing to be with Whitey up in heaven with Jesus.

Char is survived by her sisters, Donna Havely and Grace Pullen; her children, Douglas Conkle, Martin Conkle, and Tracey Fowler; her grandchildren, Bryan Fowler and Chelsey (Kyle) Walden; and her great grandchildren, Charli, Crimson, and Patrick. She is predeceased by her husband Ray "Whitey" Conkle, and her parents Charles Cross and Mary Hartley.

Charlotte's family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH, where her funeral service will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Tracy Fowler officiating. Interment Jefferson Township Cemetery.
