Cory Jacob Rodia, 31, of Gahanna, passed away on July 5, 2021. Cory was born in Boynton Beach, Florida on August 28, 1989 to Darrin Rodia and Jennifer Peck. Cory loved spending time with his family and friends. He often listened to audio books, and was an intelligent young man who enjoyed reading and learning. He was extremely artistic, and had a huge presence whenever he entered a room. He even surprised people when his great mood had him singing Frank Sinatra in his hidden beautiful voice. Cory struggled for many years with his fight against addiction. Cory had a truly positive impact on so many. His life had meaning and consequence to a host of friends who said he checked on them with genuine concern. As he was fighting his own demons, he was helping others to tackle theirs. His friends often called him supportive and encouraging, and said he made a true difference for their recovery. The time that he spent with his mother, brother, nan, uncle, and his host of friends was the happiest in his life. He will truly be missed by all. He is preceded in death by father Darrin Rodia and grandparents Hertha & Frank Rodia. He is survived by his mother Jennifer (Peck) Anahata; brother Josh Rodia; Nan Marcia Gordon; uncles Jason & Alex Peck; step-father Mario Alvarez; half sister Ariel; step-brother Mario Jr; many cousins and a host of extended family and friends. His family will receive friends on Saturday, July 10, from 3-5pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, where a celebration of his life will follow at 5pm. Cory’s family asks that donations in his memory be made to your local addiction recovery center to help someone in their fight against addiction.
