Curtis Fraley Obituary

Curtis H. Fraley, age 81, passed away on November 27, 2020 due to unexpected complications from a stroke. Given the current state of the world and its oppressive restrictions it was only by the grace of God that he was surrounded by his immediate family as he drew his last breath.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents George and Myrtle Fraley, Mother and Father-In-Law Willis & Lillian Frost, brother-in-law Larry Hull, sister-in-law Dorothy Fraley, brother-in-law Paul Myers, brother Gene Fraley, brother-in-law Frank Deskins and brother-in-law Ronnie Bennett. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann of 58 years, daughter Candace (Randall) Beeghley, son Gregory (Sherie) Fraley, daughter Dawn Fraley and many loving grandchildren: Courtney (Kyle) Miller, Gabrielle Fraley, Matthew Fraley, Benjamin Beeghley, Emily Fraley, Lily Fraley, Gemma Fraley and Great Grandchildren Chloe Miller and Brian Miller. Several Fraley family members including: Lorraine Bennett , Anna Lois Deskins, Willie (Darlene) Fraley, Doris Fraley, George Fraley, Irvin (Betty) Fraley, Rich (Carol) Fraley, Thomas (Liz) Fraley, Sue (Estil) Nichols, Kathy Hull, Betty Myers, Richard Frost, Jackson family members, loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Curtis worked 34 years as a Horticulturalist for Columbus Public Schools. He loved to spend time with his wife and family, being outdoors (especially on hot summer days) working in the yard and fishing. It was recommended that he may be part goat with the effortless way he would climb ridges and steep terrain to find the perfect fishing spot. Curtis liked working with his hands whether it be in the earth toiling the soil or spending time repairing/rebuilding various machinery. He loved music; especially Waylon Jennings and Bluegrass which he would listen to every Saturday night. He enjoyed watching Gun Smoke with his wife every day and was a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds even though he said they were never going to make it to The World Series. He also enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals despite his wife’s love of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a special love for reading Holy Scripture and would spend long periods of time with the words of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He will truly be missed by his family and friends who love him so dearly.
