Obituary
Darlene McDonnell passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022. Darlene was born in Painesville, Ohio at Lake County Hospital. She graduated from Riverside High School, after which she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Cleveland State University. After managing two Pizza Hut restaurants, she began her career in public health, working as a Registered Sanitarian for Lake County Health District. Later, she was hired by the Ohio Department of Health to manage the Food Safety Program. Finally, she moved to the Ohio Department of Agriculture, where she started as a manager and through her hard work and dedication, became Assistant Director of Agriculture. After retirement, Darlene dedicated her time to her husband, home, family, many friends, and her beloved cats. Darlene is survived by her Husband, Mark; Mother, Mary Hauser; Sister, Deonna ‘Dee’ Hauser; Brother, Steve (Connie) Hauser; three step-children, Caitlin (Mike Waclo) McDonnell, Colleen McDonnell, and Meghan McDonnell (David); her much-loved nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law Kevin (Pat) McDonnell, Tim (Terri) McDonnell; and sister-in-law Beth McDonnell She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil ‘Bud’ Hauser.
Darlene's graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg.
