David Lee Doll

David Lee Doll, age 84, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Portsmouth, Ohio, United States Navy Veteran, serving from 1957-1959 in Bainbridge, Maryland and Norfolk, Virginia, and retired from Western Electric/AT&T in Columbus, Ohio with 37 years of service. Dave enjoyed movies, old and new, landscaping his and his daughters’ yards, astronomy, following the discoveries of the space program and telescopes, traveling by car across the US with his family, visiting many National Parks, and The Ohio State Buckeyes Football, attending almost 50 years of full season games. Predeceased by parents, Joseph Doll, Sr. and Margaret (Holt) Doll Sullens, brother Joseph Doll, Jr. and nephew Michael Doll. Survived by his wife of 58 years, LaDonna Doll, daughters, Cynthia Doll, Melissa Doll, Stephanie (Doll) Hamer, son-in-law Tom Hamer, sister-in-law Ruth Doll, and niece Kristina (Bryan) Dunlap. The family would like to thank the staff of Capital City Hospice for their care and support during Dave’s final days. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 with his funeral service to begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Portsmouth, OH.
