David John Starner, age 56, passed away Thursday, February 18th, after an 11 year, courageous battle with ALS.
Dave was preceded in death by his adored mother, Gretchen.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie, of 27 years, and his father, William, who was so proud of Dave. He is also survived by his brothers, Steven, and Michael (Kiley) and nieces, Hailey and Zoey. In addition, his mother-in-law, Ruth, along with his brother-in-law, Scott (Fran), niece Lindsey, and nephews Adam and Nate.
Dave leaves behind so many friends and family who meant the world to him - particularly his cousins from Miamisburg, Ohio and California, his concert going friends, and closest friends from Reynoldsburg High School in the class of 1983.
Dave is best known for his keen intellect, his orneriness, his love for music (in particular Phish and the Grateful Dead), anything Ohio State, the Cincinnati Reds, and the entire state of California.
At this time, there will not be a service; however, there is a tentative plan for a “celebration of life” sometime this summer.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to OSU Neuro Research and Dr. Stephen Kolb, or a go fund me to be announced in an effort to plant trees in Dave’s name as he loved the outdoors and nature. The details of this will be released via Facebook.
