David Mathew Whetsel

David Mathew Whetsel, 51, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away from his battle with cancer on Friday, March 1, 2024. He was born in Greenburg, Pennsylvania on December 1, 1972 to William and Bertha (Rumshock) Whetsel. He was proud to have worked for many years for TransWorld Airlines as a ramp service worker. Most recently, he worked as a manager for Giant Eagle. He loved the Pittsburgh Penguins, and getting to enjoy watching games with his family. He will truly be missed by his friends and family. He is preceded in death by his baby sister; grandparents William and Myrna Rumshock and William Avanell Whetsel; uncle Jay Rumshock. David leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Amy (Teti) Whetsel; daughter Katelyn Whetsel; parents William and Bertha (Rumshock) Whetsel; brother William (Dee) Whetsel; in-laws Donald and Suzanne Teti; nephews Tyler and Liam Whetsel; aunt & uncle William and Nancy Rumshock; cousins Stacey Amendola and Megan McFarland; many extended family members and friends. His family will receive friends on Thursday, March 7, from 5-7pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, with his funeral service at 7pm. Graveside service to follow Friday at 1pm at Union Cemetery, Irwin, Pennsylvania. Donations in his memory may be made to TLC Foundation, P.O. Box 1564, Greensburg, PA 15601.
