David "Mike" Michael Murray

David “Mike” M. Murray, age 75, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away suddenly on October 12, 2024. He was born June 10, 1949, to the late Virgina Cutler Murray and David A. Murray.

Mike was proudly baptized on August 17, 2024, by Pastor Patrick Michael assisted by his nephews Jake and Jared.

He was an avid fisherman, loving to fish anywhere at anytime. He retired from JCPenney’s Distribution Center in 2011 after 25 years where he had many friends and still stayed in touch after retirement.

Mike was proceeded in death by his parents, niece LaDonna (Speich) Schaefer and brother-in-law Mark Gilliam.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Murray, sisters Cathy Gilliam and Ginny Cutler; step-daughters Teresa (Terry) Smith, Tina (Mark) Moore; step-grandchildren Scott (Rebecca) Smith, Kati (Bryce) Lifer; step-great grandchildren Austin, Collin Smith and Ava Lifer; nieces Rebekah (Chris) Scott, Priscilla Speich; nephews Ginson (Becky) Speich, Jared (Jenny) Gilliam, Chris (Sarah) Speich, Jacob (Candice) Gilliam; several great-nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Dave Speich; close friends Ron Buckles, Harold (Lydia) Fischer, Bob Chapman, Cheryl Anderson and many other friends and family.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Visiting will, also, occur on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. and his funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Guiles Richardson officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
