In Loving Memory of Dean Alan Zinn
Dean Alan Zinn, age 47, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, due to natural causes. He was a devoted father, a beloved member of his family, and an accomplished electrical engineer.
Dean’s three cherished children—Parker David Zinn, Kinley Rose Zinn, and Crosby Alan Zinn—were not only the center of his world but also the brightest sources of his pride and joy. His legacy and spirit will forever live on through them, as they carry his memory in their hearts.
Dean was born on March 3, 1978, in Marietta, Ohio, to David “Dave” Zinn and Katherine “Kathy” Straface Zinn. He was preceded in death by his father, David, and his brother, David Christopher “Chris” Zinn. Dean is survived by his loving mother, Kathy; his sister, Melanie Zinn Howell; her husband, Michael Howell; and his three nieces: Kaycie Howell, Amber Howell, and Lily Howell. Dean’s connection to his family was deep and enduring, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dean earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University. He applied his expertise as an electrical engineer for Prater Engineering Associates, where his talent and dedication left a lasting mark.
A Celebration of Life
A service to honor Dean’s life and legacy will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. The gathering will take place at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, located at 600 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio. Family, friends, and all whose lives Dean touched are invited to celebrate his journey and the memories he leaves behind.
