Doris Yvonne Jacks, age 89, went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 4th, 2025 in Marengo, Ohio.
She was born in Langsville Ohio on December 9th 1935 to the late Grada and Madge Oiler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, John Jacks and her brothers and sisters in law: Jimmy (Delma) Oiler, Carl (Goldie) Oiler and Jay Oiler. Brothers and sisters in laws;: Charles (Sybil) Jacks, Gene (Leanna) Jacks, Francis (Sid) Harless, Marge (John) Knotts, Edith (Red) Walker, Ronald (Betty) Jacks. As well as granddaughter, Lynn Myers and great granddaughter, Lacey Pickel and many other loved family members and special friends.
She is survived by daughters: Dianna (Bruce) Fitzpatrick, Victoria Pickel and Carla (Gary) Shroyer. She was blessed with seven grandsons: Jimmy (Diane) Childers, Steven (Barb) Myers, John (Karrie) Myers, Michael Pickel, Frank (Ashli) Murray, Benjamin Pickel and Corey Murray. 16 great grandchildren: Logan, Joshua, Shawna, Jonathan, Alexis, MacKenzie, Timothy, Anthony, Cameron, Jenna, Grace, Nicholas, Drake, Hayden, Isabella and Brielle. 12 great-great grandchildren: Brooklynn, Emmalynn, Carter, Julian, Hudson, Braxton, Breighlynn, Caisen, Waylon, Abigail, Isibel, and Paetyn. She also is survived by her many nieces, nephews and other family members that she cherished in addition to her special friendship with Pastor Ron Heath.
She retired from JC Penney’s after more than 15 years of service. She enjoyed decorating and remodeling houses, working in flowers in the yard, crocheting, cooking (discovering new recipes) and being a care giver to pretty much everyone! But her real love was being a Sunday school teacher where she taught for more than 30 years. She was a prayer warrior and always had a lengthy prayer list that included all of her family. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was homesick to be with him and all that have gone before her in Heaven, including her animals especially her dog Tabby.
She leaves a legacy of love, humor, perseverance, and a dedication to the Lord that will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her remarkable life will forever be an inspiration and a testament to the Lord and if she were her today, she would tell you that her heart longs to see you again in heaven someday.
She will be greatly missed, loved and forever remembered.
Doris's family will receive friends on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 3 to 5:00pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH, where her funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00am. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
