Doris Horlacher Sherrill, age 99, of Reynoldsburg, OH passed away April 1, 2025. Doris was born and grew up on a farm in Indiana during the Great Depression. After high school, she worked in a defense facility inspecting shells for use in WWII. There she met Harley J. Sherrill and they married in 1944. They later moved to Reynoldsburg where she worked as a secretary in Harley’s insurance office.
Through the years Doris enjoyed watching sports, attending Ohio State girls’ basketball games, playing pinochle with friends and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Reynoldsburg United Presbyterian Church. Doris was a special person to many and will be remembered for her cheerful personality and her joyful smile.
Survivors are a son, Kerry (Ruby) Sherrill, daughters Karen McGuirk and Kimberly (Ron) Moen, seven grand-children, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Harley; four brothers Carl, Lloyd, Clem and Glen Horlacher; and one sister, Phebe Smith.
A celebration of life to honor Doris will be held at Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary Lebanon, IN on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 2:00pm.
