Dorothy "Dottie" Ann Bucaro

Dorothy “Dottie” Ann Bucaro, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was a native of Chicago and graduated from Good Counsel High School in Chicago, IL, Class of 1977.

Dottie received a culinary license and worked as a Chef for a short time before making the decision to devote her life to her children as a loving stay at home Mom. She enjoyed making memories with her children and family, listening to music, watching game and food shows, shopping, eating her mother’s homemade cooking, playing computer games, solving puzzles, and talking on the phone. She was a trivia expert and a great cook.

Her children could always count on her for loving support and guidance. She would know exactly what to say in all situations. Dottie stood behind her children no matter what. Dottie’s sense of humor was infectious. She stated herself, “Wherever I go, I leave my mark.”

Dottie was born to Marie (DeCarlo) Bucaro and the late William J. Bucaro. She is survived by her three children, Nichole (Andrew) Bunce, Henry Healy, Jr., and Christopher Healy; brothers, Martin (Sue) Bucaro, Salvatore (Lisa) Bucaro and William (Petra) Bucaro. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a good friend to Elizabeth “Chippy” Holubek and Henry Healy, Sr.

A graveside service for Dottie will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 11:00am at Greenlawn Cemetery, 1000 Greenlawn Ave., Columbus, OH 43223.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dottie’s name be made to: Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Dr., Columbus, OH 43214, or the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, P.O. Box 182883, Columbus, OH 43218. Arrangements under the care of Cotner Funeral Home.
