Douglas Pennington, born December 27, 1966, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at the age of 57. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend, known for his warm heart, vibrant personality, and willingness to help others.
Doug is survived by his devoted spouse, May Pennington, and his beloved son, Brandon Hunter. Doug is also survived by his stepmother, Patricia Pennington, and his siblings, Herbert Pennington, Mark (Alisha) Pennington, and Tiffany Ackley. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert Pennington Sr. and Betty Rioux (stepfather Charles Rioux), and his brother, Edward Pennington. Doug is further survived by his stepsiblings, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, a granddaughter, and many friends who will deeply miss him.
Doug was a true handyman at heart. He would always drop what he was doing to lend a hand to anyone in need, offering his skills and generosity to friends, family, and neighbors alike. In addition to his knack for fixing things, Doug was a dog lover, and his four dogs at home were a big part of his life. Doug had a passion for karaoke and singing, which brought joy to all who heard him perform. An avid NASCAR fan, Doug also enjoyed cooking, riding his motorcycle, and working on cars—hobbies that reflected his adventurous spirit and love of the open road.
A memorial service will be held at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E Main St, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 3 to 5 p.m. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at Vick's Pizza, 7345 E Main St, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068, on Sunday, December 15th between the hours of 3 to 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join in honoring Doug’s memory.
Doug will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
