Edmond Appiah Obituary

Edmond K. Appiah, 70, of Pickerington, Ohio entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Edmond Kwasi Appiah, a beacon of curiosity, faith, and love, passed away peacefully, leaving a legacy that spans continents. Born in Akyem Maase, Ghana, in December 1955 to Opanin Kofi Appiah and Madam Mary Serwaa Appiah, he was the oldest of seven children. A brilliant and inquisitive soul from the start, he excelled at Maase High School and graduated at the top of his class from Saint Paul’s College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His career began at Africa Motors in Kumasi, but his heart always remained in Maase, where he courted and married the love of his life, Margaret. Their devoted partnership of decades was the foundation for their family. A teacher in Liberia and a mechanical engineer for the City of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Appiah worked tirelessly to build a future for his wife and their four children: Gifty, Millicent, Prince, and Benjamin. He was a spiritual pillar at Jesus Power Assembly Of God Church in Columbus, Ohio, serving faithfully as a Deacon. Driven by a profound generosity, he dedicated his later years to ambitious projects in Ghana, seeking to create jobs and opportunity for his homeland. He returned from this final mission of giving with his health in decline. For over sixteen years, he endured a prolonged and arduous illness. Those who cared for him witnessed a profound transformation not of spirit, which remained indomitable but of character. The energetic, hands on problem solver met this challenge with a quiet, monumental grace. His vibrant curiosity turned inward, toward the depths of faith and the promise of eternity. He bore his suffering without complaint. His focus shifting from building in this world to preparing for the next. His unwavering eyes remained firmly on Jesus, the author and perfecter of his faith. His presence became a powerful testimony of endurance and hope to all who visited his side before he was called home by the Lord on Christmas Eve 2025.He was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Millicent Bandoh. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Appiah; his children, Gifty, Prince and Benjamin; nine grandchildren, Jayda, Jaydon, Josiah, Jahmai, Micah, Prince Jr., Melchizedek, Ethan, Nathan; six siblings, Stella Appiah, Martha Appiah, George Appiah, Oppong Appiah, Paul Appiah, Vida Appiah and countless family and friends whose lives he profoundly touched. A man who believed in understanding, building, and rebuilding for his family, his community, and his country, his light of love and faith will never be extinguished in the hearts of those who knew him.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Jesus Power Assembly of God Church, 5215 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43231 where his service will follow at 9:00 a.m.  A graveside service will follow the church service immediately at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
