Effie Pathis

Effie Pathis (nee Sakelleriou), age 76, of Columbus, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Precious mother of John (Racquel) Pathis and Aggie (Ian) Nye; loving grandmother of Zoe Pathis, Gordon and Alek Stewart, and Halen Marina Nye; cherished sister of Theo (Christine) Sakelleriou; dearest aunt of Nicole (Noah Bernard) Sakelleriou and great aunt to Theo Bernard; beloved daughter of the late Harry and Marina Sakelleriou; and former wife of the late Bill Pathis. 

Born on February 7, 1945 in Arine, Greece, Effie came to the United States with her parents in 1958. She was a 1965 graduate of Central High School in Columbus, OH, and earned a secretarial degree from Bliss College, formerly in Columbus, OH. Effie enjoyed making beaded jewelry, baking Greek pastries, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. 

Friends can offer their condolences on Sunday, February 21, 2021, from 3:30-5:00 PM, at Cotner Funeral Home 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. The family is asking attendees to wear a facial covering and follow funeral home social distancing guidelines.
