Eleanor Jean Young

Eleanor Jean Young, 97, of Sunbury, passed away on December 17, 2023. She was born at home in Reynoldsburg, Ohio on November 8, 1926 to Floyd and Flora (Merle) Powell. She loved all things pink, reading, and cardinals that reminded her of those who went before her. She was a wonderful, caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She knew how to make you feel better when you were down. She was the best listener and a vivid storyteller. She was the historian for the family, and knew every important date that ever happened. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert A. Young, Sr.; siblings Edna Stephens, Louis Powell, Elizabeth Schenz, and Floyd Powell, Jr.; grandson Bradley Morris. Eleanor is survived by children Robert (Susan) Young and Sandra (George) Morris; grandchildren Heather (Michael) Rannebarger, Stephanie (Anthony) Newberry, and Ashley (Christopher) Vanderpool; great-grandchildren Logan, Chase, Mia, Ella, and Sophia; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 20, from 5-6pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, with her funeral service at 6pm. Her graveside service will follow on Thursday, December 21, at 1pm at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
