We give glory to God as we celebrate the long and fruitful life of Evelyn L. Kirk, affectionately known as Miss Bonnie, as she embraces the boundaries of her new, heavenly home, a place where she is no longer bound by weakness and sickness. Bonnie was born to Edgar and Bertha Edmonds and was one of twelve children. In her lifetime, she was graciously known by all as “A Mother to Many.” She was the servant of the most high God in the truest form, always doing whatever she could for “the least of these.” Her passions in life were loving children, gardening, sewing, square dancing, bowling, and fishing.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George T. Kirk; son, Kenny G. Kirk, Sr. and granddaughter, Wendy A. Kirk. She is survived by her sister and last sibling, Margaret Schmader; granddaughter, Mandy S. Lockhart; grandson, Kenny G. Kirk, Jr., several nieces and nephews and a bushel full of beloved great grandchildren and step grandchildren.
Miss Bonnie will be thought of with warmth and fondness by all those who knew her, and she will be missed more than the heart can bear. Her family would like the readers to know that their loved one’s passing is heaven’s gain and the world's loss. Her family will receive friends on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 12:30 to 1:30pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH, where her funeral service will begin at 1:30pm with interment immediately following at Carroll Cemetery, 4663 Carroll Cemetery Road, Carroll, OH.
Please note, there will be a graveside poetry reading with a final prayer following the service for those interested in attending. Please refer to the Carroll Cemetery address above as travel will be on your own. Thank you kindly.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this? John 11:25
