Frances M. Karga

Frances M. Karga, was born on January 19, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, and passed away September 14, 2024 in Virginia Beach, VA. Frances resided in the Reynoldsburg, Ohio area from 1959 to 2023.

She was preceded by the love of her life, James D. Karga; her parents, Evelyn and Hamilton Magrath; brother, Robert Magrath; mother and father-in-law, Rose and Lockland McPherson; sister-in-law, Bernadette Magrath and son-in-law, Timothy Reed.

Frances is survived by her six children; Joyce Reed, Evelyn (William) Morgan, Roseann (Frederick) Wright, James L. Karga, Mary C. Karga (Karl Kessler) and Kevin (Heather) Karga; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great-grandchild.

Frances' life was evidence of the saying; For it is in giving that we receive. Her treasured causes were those dedicated to the well being of children, both her own and those of others. These included membership in a women's sorority, whose mission was to ensure orphans experienced the joy of a birthday party; the role of a Brownie Scout Leader, helping young girls acquire self confidence and community spirit by way of the activities they experienced; teaching children enrolled in C.C.D, to understand and grasp the assurance of the unconditional love they were bestowed with by virtue of the knowledge of God in their lives. And those were just some of the volunteer tasks. She also spent a couple decades as a Day Care Center Teacher and later Administrator for a United Way Child Care Center, dedicated to the care of children from under served communities. Her spirit of service unto others was limited only as her health began to diminish.

Frances' family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 5 to 8:00pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Rd. Reynoldsburg, OH. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
