Frank Michael Woods, 82, passed away with family nearby and was reunited with Libby in heaven on June 29, 2025. He was born on July 17, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Elizabeth Esther Cottrill Woods; his parents, Rowland Daryle Woods and Margaret Virginia (McAllister) Woods; sons, Scott Alan Woods and Troy Bradley Woods; sister, Patricia Woods Schaffer.
Frank is survived by his sons Steven (Doni) Woods, Todd (Rachel) Woods, Shawn (Alisha) Woods; brothers, Gene Way, Edward Woods, and sister, Judith Sears; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Frank attended Mifflin High School and joined the United States Army in 1963 where he proudly served in Vietnam. He became a senior criminal investigator obtaining the rank of Warrant 3. In 1984 he retired from the US Army and became a senior criminal investigator for Rockwell International on the B1 project.
After retirement Frank enjoyed shooting guns, watching sports and his favorite old shows such as Andy Griffith. He loved carpentry and building and was an everyday visitor at his local Kroger.
Frank had a generous giving heart underneath his gruff exterior and will be missed by all.
Frank’s family will have a private ceremony with military honors at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
