Gary Reynard Obituary

    Gary T. Reynard, born July 31st 1945 in Newark Ohio to Dortha and Thurman Reynard, Sadly passed away Saturday April 3rd 2021.

     Gary graduated High School the class of 1963 from Newark High, and went on to study at Franklin University for two years where he met his wonderful wife Karen Sifread before joining the U.S. Army in 1965. During his time in the military Gary worked on several special projects that focused on Top Secret Crypto Maintenance, and Encryption. He was stationed in Schwabisch Gmund, Germany at Hart Casern. He returned stateside for his wedding June 18th 1967, mid deployment, to marry his wife Karen who accompanied him abroad a month after their wedding. After his discharge Gary worked for Mosler Safe Co. and Deibold installing banking related security systems until he retired.

    Gary was known for his love of Camping and Trail riding with his dear friends as the president of the Central Ohio Off-roaders Association. Gary engineered and fabricated multiple buggys that were used in the club. Gary also loved his garden, tinkering in the man cave, and maybe above all being a Red-Blooded Patriot who cherished his country, and way of life.

    Gary is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Steven Reynard (2009).

    He will be dearly missed by his friends and family including his wife Karen, Sons Barry and Brent, Daughter in law Jackie, Grandchildren Sierra, Brandon, Kaitlyn, and Olivia, Sierra’s Husband, and friend Alex Moore, and his Great Grandson Wesley John Moore.

His family will receive friends at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg on Thursday April 8, from 6-9 p.m. and Friday April 9, from 1-4 p.m. Military honors will be presented by the United States Army and Reynoldsburg VFW Post #9473 at the funeral home on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
