Gaye D. Suver

Gaye Daryl Suver passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on October 4, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Gaye made her home in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where she was a lifelong and devoted member of Reynoldsburg Baptist Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was well known for her deep love of the Lord.

Gaye retired from Columbus City Schools after a lifetime career at the Board of Education where she met and kept her lifetime friends. Gaye had a social circle and calendar that was hard to match or keep track of! Between her love of cards, game day at friends and the way she celebrated her birthday for the entire month of October, her love of life was unmatched!

Gaye and her beloved husband, Dick “Bear” Suver were avid campers at Four Seasons Campground at Indian Lake and made many lifetime friends who became like family.

She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her warmth, wit, and charm touched all who knew even those she met in passing, which was usually shopping, as she never knew a stranger. Her presence brought great joy and comfort to her family and friends, and her legacy of faith and love will continue to live on in those she leaves behind.

Gaye is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Richard Suver.  

She is survived by her son, Scott Hall (Jill), and their children, Chance, Kyndal, and Josiah; her son, Stuart (Nancy), and their daughter, Jenny (Adrian), and their children, Calvin (Shaelin) and Sidney (Luke) George; grandsons Seth and Loren (Tamisha) and their children Adenea, Vania, Kamil, Hank and Finn, and by her daughter, Beverly (Hall) Trout, and her children, Kenzie and Joey, along with step-grandchildren Lindsey Pusateri and Alissa Sisi. She is also survived by great-great-grandchildren Tatum and Colin, granddaughter Raegan and Dani Devor.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Reynoldsburg Baptist Church, 887 Rosehill Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 12:30 p.m. Gaye would have loved for all to stay and fellowship, sharing stories and laughter over a luncheon beginning at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Gaye would have loved you to share a cup of coffee and a cookie with a friend and remember her with love. Our favorite family saying was that our mom never met a cookie that she didn’t like!
