Gina Whitson

Gina Whitson, 54, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026. She was born on January 18, 1972, in Columbus, Ohio. Gina spent her life in the community she proudly called home, leaving an enduring mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a woman of extraordinary warmth, kindness, and generosity, known for her loving heart, infectious laughter, and remarkable ability to brighten every room she entered.

A beautiful soul, Gina loved unconditionally. She welcomed everyone with compassion and treated every animal she encountered with the same gentle care and affection. Her selflessness and caring spirit touched countless lives and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Gina dedicated many years to her family's businesses, Steinmetz Amusement Rides and the Lenex Inn, where her strong work ethics and commitment were evident every day.

Above all else, Gina's greatest pride and joy were her five beautiful daughters: Ashley Blankenship, Rachel (Philip) Shalosky, Samantha Maxwell, Stasha (Kody) South, and Krystal Maxwell. Her love, guidance, and unwavering devotion to her daughters were the foundation of her life. Gina was also a proud and devoted grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren, Donna Blankenship, Leonna Cullen, Emma Shalosky, Austyn Shalosky, and Kyler South, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

In recent years, Gina shared her life with Kenneth Myers, a lifelong family friend whose love, companionship, and support meant so much to her. Gina is lovingly survived by her daughters, Ashley Blankenship, Rachel (Philip) Shalosky, Samantha Maxwell, Stasha (Kody) South, and Krystal Maxwell; her father, Jim Whitson; her beloved grandchildren, Donna Blankenship, Leonna Cullen, Emma Shalosky, Austyn Shalosky, and Kyler South; Kenneth Myers; and many extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Donna Elizabeth Steinmetz; her brothers, Donald "DJ" Whitson and James "Jimmy" Whitson; and her cherished grandparents, Donald and Ann Steinmetz. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, Gina's legacy of love, laughter, kindness, and compassion will continue to live in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her generous spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to everyone she
met.

In accordance with Gina's wishes, she will be cremated. A private burial will take place at Pataskala Cemetery at a later date with her immediate family present.
