Glenn Curnutte Obituary

Glenn Allen Curnutte, 77, of Thornville, Ohio, lost his years long battle with an aggressive form of prostate cancer April 6, 2025 with his loving wife of 57 years by his side. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, October 8, 1947.

He is preceded in death by son, Allen; parents, Jenny (Bob) Harting and George (Dorothy) Curnutte; brothers, Jim and George Jr.; sisters, Sharon Schall and Sharon Kirk; and in-laws, Virgil and Rosa DeLong. Survived by the center of his world, his wife Priscilla, along with his daughter Shelli (Freddy) Swank; brothers, Danny (Delores) Widdifield and Rick (Leah); sisters, Debbie (Jim) Chuvalas and Dottie (Marc) Runck; grandchildren, Shelisa and David Cole; great-grandchildren, Shylisa, Dallas, David II and Arya; aunt, Shirley (Chuck) Bricker; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Quillen and Susie Ohlinger; many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, golfing buddies and neighbors. 

Glenn worked for many years remodeling homes for HUD. He enjoyed 15 years of retirement from the State of Ohio at Rickenbacker AFB golfing, supporting his great-grandchildren’s sports and spending time with friends and family. He and Priscilla loved going to cruise-ins in their 1965 Chevy Impala with the Mid-Ohio Classic Car Club. He enjoyed working around the house, garage and yard. He never gave up hope on his Cleveland Browns and loved seeing the Buckeyes win the National Championship this year. He also loved the ‘Big Red Machine’ Cincinnati Reds. Glenn has had several hobbies over the years including bowling, playing softball, basketball, football and hunting. He was a Lifetime Member of the Moose Lodge #11 for 51 years and attended Shining Light Baptist Church. His family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 12, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St, Reynoldsburg, where the service will be held at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Jim Chuvalas. Glenn will be wearing his Buckeye colors and all who attend are invited to wear their favorite team EXCEPT that team up north. He will know!! In lieu of flowers, do a good deed for someone in need, as he always did or play a round of golf in his memory.
