Glennis "Doc" Edward Foughty

Glennis (Doc) Edward Foughty of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

Beloved father and wonderful husband, grandfather and great grandfather.

Born July 23, 1924 in Chauncey, Ohio, to Edward and Mae Foughty. He graduated from Athens High School, entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served until 1945 on the aircraft carrier Bon Homme Richard in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a Gunners Mate manning a 40mm anti-aircraft gun, seeing extensive action against the Japanese. Volunteered with Honor Flight of Reynoldsburg. He married his beloved wife, Ida (Lasure), December 19, 1946. They moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he became Plant Manager for the Ironsides Company for 39 years. He is survived by wife, Ida, daughter, Sandra Vaughn, (son-in-law, Stanley I. Vaughn III) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and daughter, Janie Kellet, McMinnville, Oregon, 6 Grandchildren, and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, April 27, from 12am-1pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, where her funeral service will be held at 1pm with Pastor Bruce Colsten officiating. Graveside service to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
