Hendrika Tellings, 85, was born on April 2, 1935 in Holland, and immigrated to the United States in 1957 with her husband, Jan P.E. Tellings; and infant son, Edward, who all became naturalized citizens in 1968. Hendrika was preceded in death by her husband, Jan P.E. Tellings in 2002. She is survived by her son, Ed (Connie) Tellings; and daughters, Irene (Terry) Frost and Alice Minic.
Hendrika was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 13 and matriarch of the entire family. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate life with loved ones. She was an avid reader and line dancer, with a soft heart for dogs and a passion for gardening.
Raised in a small Dutch town and living through the hardships of WWII, it is amazing that she became a world traveler with visits to her home country, China, Indonesia, Africa, South America, the Caribbean Islands, Russia, Alaska, and Hawaii. She had so many friends and neighbors whom she loved dearly. Her positive attitude and constant smile will be missed by all.
Hendrika’s family will receive friends on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH, where her Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00pm with Pastor Craig Martens officiating.
