Hye Micha Scott, age 79, went home to be with her Lord on August 2, 2023. She passed away in Perrysburg, Ohio after a short battle with liver cancer.
She was preceded in death by her daughters Suzie and Mary. She is survived by her son David, 49, who currently lives in Toledo, and her granddaughter Sierra, 29, and great-granddaughters Kimar’ria, 9, and Ky’jauni, 1 month, all of Reynoldsburg.
Hye was born in South Korea during World War II and her childhood unfolded during a time of war and post-war recovery in her native country. She married her ex-husband Jerry in 1968 and moved to the United States the following year. After a few months at an Army base in North Carolina, they would settle in the Columbus area, first in Blacklick and then in Reynoldsburg. Hye would achieve United States citizenship in 1977 and accepted a job at Radio Shack warehouse in Groveport where she worked for 25 years until her retirement. After her divorce, Hye would buy a townhouse condo near Obetz in 1993. Hye called Columbus home for 52 years before moving with her son to Toledo in 2021.
Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, September 22 at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg. Visitation is at Noon and the celebration of life starts at 1:00. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens in Canal Winchester.
