Irene P. Hrivnak

Irene P. Hrivnak, age 93, passed away peacefully December 4, 2023. She was born June 29, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Orazio & Lucia DiVincenzo. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend of 61 years Nicholas Hrivnak, her daughter Nancy Sweeney, siblings Umbert, Guido, Helen, and William, brother-in-law Charles Cardina.

Left to cherish her memory are son Thomas (Jamie) Hrivnak; son-in-law Dennis Sweeney; grandchildren Lauren Kuehner, Chelsea Sweeney, Erin (Tim) Moeller, Nicholas Hrivnak and Jonathon Hrivnak; great-grandchildren Shane Kuehner, Maverick Kuehner, Rylee Feck, Adeline Kuehner, Beckett Kuehner, Rebecca Moeller, and Luke Moeller. She is also survived by sister-in-law Dolores “Corky” DiVincenzo along with many nieces and nephews.

Irene retired from The Ohio State University. Irene loved working at The Ohio State University. Irene was an avid sports fan of The Ohio State University and the Cleveland Browns. Her and Nick loved to travel and visited many areas of the United States and abroad. She enjoyed bowling and bridge; participating in many leagues for years. Irene volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels and was very active in her church.

Irene’s family will receive friends on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 South Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. Graveside service to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 11539 National Road SW, Pataskala, Ohio 43062.
