James Howard Hollenbaugh, age 87, of Reynoldsburg, OH, passed away on August 24, 2021. He was born April 24, 1934 to the late John and Pearl (Laney) Hollenbaugh in Johnstown, PA. He attended school in Oil City, PA and graduated from Canal Winchester High School in 1952. While in high school he played clarinet in the marching band & orchestra. He began working for Williams Trailer Sales while still in high school and worked his way up to become its owner for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for 8 years. Jim belonged to the Early Times Custom Car Club and American Truck Historical Society as he enjoyed restoring antique cars & trucks. He took pilot lessons at Port Columbus where he also made his first solo flight. A very caring husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Jim always put others first. He was a very hardworking man with a great sense of humor who was a joy to be around. Jim is survived by his children, Terry Sheeley, Steve (Valerie) Hollenbaugh; stepdaughters, Eileen, Ladonna, Vicky and Lisa (Kevin); grandchildren, Amanda (Eric) Hughes, Matthew Hollenbaugh and Andrew Hollenbaugh; great grandchildren, William and Emma Hughes; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Murphy. He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Shirley, wife of 20 years, Shelby and his sisters, Lois Ward and Alice Manifold. His family will receive friends on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg, where his funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates. As a tribute to Jim, anyone wishing to do so please join us in driving their classic car or truck to the visitation and/or funeral.
