James Richard Laugherty

James “Jim” Richard Laugherty passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 9th, 2024, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born on July 9th, 1940, in Columbus, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Kathleen (Fish) Laugherty; sister, Mary Kay Henricks; brothers, Michael and Thomas Laugherty and daughter, Ann Laugherty.

He is survived by his wife, Chris O’Neal Laugherty; son, Patrick (Kim) Laugherty; granddaughter, Madalyn (Trey) Young; grandson, Jack Laugherty, several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Jim grew up in Grandview Heights, OH and was a proud alumni of Grandview Heights High School and the Brotherhood of Rooks Fraternity. He was also an Airman in the United States Air Force Reserve. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, hiking with his wife, hosting pool parties, spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren, and was an avid dog lover. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
