James "Duck" Brusenhan Obituary

James “Duck” Kelly Brusenhan, 66 of Blacklick, Ohio was born on July 22nd, 1957 to Curtis Brusenhan and Virginia Bandy in Wichita Falls, Texas. He has been returned to his Heavenly Home on April 19th, 2024.

Duck joined the U.S. Coast Guard early after college where he met his wife Deborah Jean Fahey who passed away March 9th, 2007. Duck and Debbie met on Post in Kodiak, Alaska where they had their first born, Sean Brusenhan. Soon after, they moved to Tampa, Florida where Kelsey Anne Brusenhan and Katherine Lynn (Brusenhan) Jacques were born before moving back to Kodiak, Alaska. They remained in Alaska until Duck retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after serving 25 years. After retirement, the family moved to Reynoldsburg, Ohio where they have all remained.

He had a love for music, singing Karaoke, and a high love for airplanes, traveling, and the Dallas Cowboy’s. He was known for always wearing tie-dye shirts and his Karaoke hit song, “Whipping Post” by The Allman Brothers.

Duck will always be remembered by his amazing roles as Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He is survived by his three children, Sean (39), Kelsey (37), and Katie (34) his Grandchildren, Bailey Squadrani (17), Nathaniel Squadrani (15), Olivia McKinney (12), and Henry Jacques (2), his Brother, Michael Brusenhan and Sister Molly Brusenhan-Black. He is now reunited with the love of his life, Debbie Brusenhan in Heaven along with his Mom and Dad, Virginia and Curtis.

Duck was known as a friend to many and was taken too soon from this earth. He will be missed by so many and remembered for his kindness, sacrifices he’s made for his family and the love he has put into this world.

His family thanks his friends and bonus-family, Phyllis Williams for the overwhelming support during this time and throughout his life journey. He loved you all.
