Jamie Sidwell

October 27, 1964 ~ July 21, 2022 (age 57)

Obituary

James Robert Sidwell better known as Jamie, age 57, passed away unexpectedly at home on July 21, 2022.  Survived by his parents Todd & Kathy Sidwell; his sister Angie Penrod and her children Jasmine, Jordan, Marty, Maddie and Makayla; his brother Mike and nieces Ariel, Arien, Ariona and nephew Michael.  Also survived by his husband of 18 years, Nick Satterley and many friends that he considered family.

Jamie was born on October 27, 1964, in Zanesville and grew up in McConnelsville, Ohio where he lived until college brought him to Akron to attend the University of Akron.  He worked at Cedar Point during his time in college where he met life-long friends.  He often spoke of that time in life with great affection.  After college he moved to Columbus, Ohio to work at Modern Finance.  He then joined Bank One where he found his love of Training & Development which was his true passion.  He moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1999 with Bank One where he lived for 5 years.  He returned to Ohio in 2004 and joined Cheryl’s Cookies as Trainer & Training Manager.  He then joined iQor as Trainer for the Utilities division then was promoted to Training Manager then Regional Training Manager.  During this time he earned his MBA from Franklin University.  He was offered an opportunity to work as a Training Consultant at Relationship Velocity which brought him back to the world of finance.  Most recently he was co-owner and operator of Frost Shades Columbus.

He was a long-time member of the King Avenue United Methodist Church.  He loved the church and most especially their choir.  We looked forward to the Christmas Service of Handel’s Messiah as an annual family tradition.  Even after we moved to Reynoldsburg we both remained at King Avenue because of our affinity for it.  He thought it was a very special place.

Jamie’s affectionate personality and his laugh brought joy, happiness and kindness to everyone.  He made sure to let you know that you mattered!  He truly made this world a better place and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.

A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Cotner Funeral Home 7369 East Main Street Reynoldsburg, Ohio.  Visiting will begin at 11:00 A.M. with a service to follow at 1:00 P.M. officiated by Rev. Colleen Ogle.
