Jeffrey "Jeff" J. Grossman

Jeffrey “Jeff” J. Grossman, 58, of Pickerington, passed away on July 28, 2020 due to complications from Covid-19. Jeff was born on July 8, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a proud graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School Class of 1980. He worked for many years as a Research and Development Chemist for Akzo-Nobel Coatings. Jeff enjoyed collecting superhero comics, sports memorabilia, and music. He was a lover of  80’s Rock and was a collector of all music genres. He enjoyed live music and concerts, especially Van Halen and Rick Emmit of Triumph. Jeff was a musician himself who played guitar at the St. Thomas More Newman Center where he and Anne met. He enjoyed jamming on his electric guitar at home and most recently returned to playing his acoustic at Church. He loved his OSU Buckeyes, the Green Bay Packers, and the Minnesota Twins, but most of all, the light of his life was his grandkids and the time he had with them. Jeff was fond of attending their sporting events and activities, and will be missed greatly.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Yvonne “Bonnie” Grossman; sister Christine Ridings; and close family friend Sandy Yamamoto. He is survived by wife of 33 years, Anne (Sorg) Grossman; children Ariana (Scott) Yokum, Josh Grossman, Alyssa Grossman, and James Grossman; Stephen Brauner; siblings Michael (Kim) Grossman, Terri (Bert) Harrison, and Karen (Jack) Meredith; brother-in-laws Ronald “Chris” Ridings and John Sorg; grandchildren Audrey, Emma, Tristan, McKenna, Eli, Devin, Brooklynn, Avery and Konner, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Jeff’s funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 17, at 10:30am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Graveside service to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made in Jeff’s memory to Cotner Funeral Home to help his family with final expenses. Jeff’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the outstanding team of nurses and doctors at Riverside hospital who cared for him. And to the many who have offered prayers, donations, messages and care to them: thank you! They have truly felt your love and support.
