Joe Clayton Sanders

Joe Clayton Sanders, Command Sergent Major US Army, retired, 83, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021. Joe served his country in the VietNam war. Following his service, he was a licensed insurance agent and was owner of Retail Remedies and Repairs.

He is preceded in death by his parents Martha Alise (Tucker) and Albert Newman Sanders, Sr.; brother Albert Sanders, Jr.; and sister Ruth Ann Colbert. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Shirley Jean (Burtner) Sanders; devoted daughters Debbie (Jim) Rustin, Donna (Todd) Hays, and Barb Bookout; grandchildren Brittnee Bookout, James Rustin, Jr., Jessica Bookout, Melissa Rustin, Katie Bookout, Bailey Hays, and Tyler Hays; brother Bobby Gene (Betty) Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe’s family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Cotner Funeral Home 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg where his funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Burial Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
