John Thomas Ruark, Jr.

John Thomas Ruark, Jr., 58, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 11, 2021. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, October 9, 1963. John was a graduate of Waverly High School, and Shawnee State Community College. He was an avid comic book and action figure collector, as well as a movie buff. He is preceded in death by his wife Marnie, father John Thomas Ruark, Sr., and son John Thomas Ruark, III. He is survived by his mother Kathryn Ruark; brother James (Glenna) Ruark, niece and nephews; and step-son Joseph Ragland; father in law and mother in law Thomas and Jeanne Phillips. John’s family will receive friends Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street with service to follow at 3:00 p.m., officiated by his brother James Ruark. Graveside service and burial will be Monday at noon, Portsmouth, Ohio. His family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff in the ICU 4^th floor at Grant Hospital for their wonderful care of John. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cotner Funeral Home to help care for his final funeral expenses.
