John Morgan Shriver

John Morgan Shriver, 83, of Reynoldsburg, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023. He was born on August 17, 1939. John retired from the Navy as a Lt. Commander after 28 years. He was a graduate of Mingo High School in Mingo, Ohio. He then attended The Ohio State University for a year before he joined the Navy. The went back and graduated from San Diego State University. He loved to play competitive tennis, and shoot pool, especially at the Reynoldsburg Senior Center where he was a member. He is preceded in death by his parents John & Myra Shriver, and his former wife Ramona Shriver. John is survived by wife Saundra “Sandy” Shriver; children Gary (Jackie) Shriver of Washington State, Patty (Clarence) Page of Texas, Susan Dalton of Massachusetts, and Jim (Anita) Shriver of Reynoldsburg; brother Ben (Lois) Shriver; step-children David (Deb) Curtis, Jan (Michael) Free, and Candy (Danny Russell) Engel; numerous grandchildren, extended family and friends. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 7, from 12-1pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, where his funeral service will begin at 1pm. Graveside service to follow at Pataskala Cemetery.
