Karen Murphy

The world became brighter on June 25, 1969 the day Karen M. Murphy (Heidelberg) was born. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Herbert and Maryann (Holup) Heidelberg.

Karen was a beautiful soul who spread joy and love wherever she went. She understood how precious time was and truly lived life to the fullest whether it was hiking a mountain, enjoying moments with her grandsons, or dancing to one of her favorite musicians.

She proudly served her country in the U.S. Air National Guard and happily found her career in procurement within her home state of Ohio.

She made lifelong friends through every phase in her life and cherished these connections. Family meant so much to her and those who were loved by her knew by her actions and presence how much she cared.

Karen sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer on July 30, 2023 at home. She continued to live graciously and courageously until the very end. She is survived by daughter Courtney, grandsons Lucas, Evan, Griffin, and her brothers. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend, and a beloved member of the community and will be dearly missed.

Her family will be having a celebration of life on August 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Plas Food and Drink, 21 East 5th Avenue Suite 101, Columbus, Ohio 43201.
