Kevin was born May 12, 1949, to Dr. Kenneth and Dorothy Martin in Elmira, New York and he passed away on June 22, 2021, in Columbus, Ohio after a battle with melanoma cancer. Kevin graduated from the University of Dayton in 1971 and he retired from Keim Ford in 2016 after many years as a leading salesman. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for over 40 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5253. Kevin coordinated the American Red Cross blood drive at St. Pius X, was a member of the Senior Fellowship group, Romans 12:13, and participated in many ministries at the parish. He was also a member of the Parkinson’s Disease support group in Reynoldsburg. Kevin’s interests included travel and photography; he enjoyed watching the Buckeyes and the Dayton Flyers and the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was an avid reader and moviegoer and liked to express his opinions on them. Kevin had a very hearty laugh and always had a joke or story to share. He enjoyed keeping in touch with his Canadian cousins. Kevin loved visiting and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife Barbara. They were planning a 50-year anniversary celebration in September 2021. Also surviving is daughter, Nicole (Matt) Gossman of St. Louis, Mo. and son Joseph (Kristine) of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Ryann and Shea Martin; sister, Ruth Martin of Kensington, Md. and brother Roy Martin, of Rochester, New York. He had many cousins, in-laws and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Martin Elliot.
Kevin’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, from 5 to 7:00pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. A funeral mass for Kevin will be celebrated on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 10:30am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Rd. Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 with Fr. Dave Young officiating. Inurnment Holy Cross Cemetery.
