Kevin John Wiggins

Kevin Wiggins (60) passed away on July 21, 2025 after a 5-year battle with Younger Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio and graduated from Kent State University in 1989 with a major in Journalism and a minor in English. He was a political reporter for several daily newspapers in Ohio and won several reporting awards before dedicating himself to writing novels and short stories.

He is preceded in death by his father, Vincent Guy Wiggins, adoptive parents Peggy and Al Shoman, grandparents Mina and Guy Wiggins and brothers John Shoman and Dave Shoman.

He is survived by his wife Jackie (Lavender) Wiggins, stepdaughter Kaitlin (Keegan) Morrow, sister Cinda (Michael “Bull”) Matthews, nieces Alonna (Scott) Hoffman, Kasandra (Michael) Brooks, Tiffany (Donald) Perdue, nephew Michael McCune, step grandchildren Lucy, Maverick and Daphne, grandnephews Dominique, Trip and Michael, grandnieces Kendall, Kerrigan and Amelia.

He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Friday July 25, 2025 at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E Main St, Reynoldsburg. Visiting hours are 4pm to 5pm; service begins at 5pm. A graveside service will be held in Canal Lewisville at a later date.
