Larry Fields Obituary

Larry Fields, 76, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, 2023. Larry was born May 25, 1947 and raised in Chester, West Virginia. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Financial Corps, in Germany. He attended Bethany Nazarene College; was a member of the Reynoldsburg Church of the Nazarene, taking countless pictures for people and special events there. He loved serving people and had many talents from fixing things to wooodworking, which led him to take part in many mission trips to Casa Robles using his talents to help them. Larry began working at Cotner Funeral Home in 1983, serving for almost 40 years, before retiring in 2023. He helped in the care of many families and had such deep respect and love for those he served and the role he played as part of the Cotner family. When not serving others or with his family he would often be found at Jolly Pirate where he had many long conversations and great friends. Larry was a very talented artist and used this gift through his love of photography, whether that be of animals, nature, or people. Most importantly though, Larry loved his family. He was a dedicated husband and father, and cherished his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Edmond Pierce Fields and Lillian Mae (Slaughter) Fields, brother Gary Fields, and nephew Leslie Payne.

Larry is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Judy; sons Bradley (Erin) Fields and Scott Fields; daughter Christina (Mitch) Bownes; grandchildren Drew (Tiffany) Fields, Kayley (Brandon) Hill, Cameron Fields, Jasmine Patterson, Makayley Fields, Judah, Manean, and Davanee Fields; sister Marilyn (Dale) Payne; brother Dave Fields.

His family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg.

Funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Reynoldsburg Church of the Nazarene, 1340 Crest Street, where friends may also visit from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Lithopolis Cemetery.
