Larry Rhoades Obituary

Larry R. Rhoades 1961-2026

Larry Russell Rhoades, born March 28, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 15, 2026.

Larry was the beloved son of Rosemary Rhoades and Jerry Rhoades, both of whom survive him. He was the loving husband of Karen Rhoades, with whom he shared over 30 years of marriage, a devoted father to Laura Rhoades and Brittany Matyas, and a proud grandfather to Kayla Washington, Amia Barroso, and Antonio Barroso, a role he cherished deeply.

He is survived by his brothers Gary, Mike, Dave, Dan, and Rick Rhoades, along with many nieces and nephews. Larry is also survived by many close friends who were an important part of his life over the years.

He was preceded in death by his niece, Alexandrea (Ally) Rhoades, who remained forever in his heart.

For many years, Larry was the owner of LRR Construction LLC, where his skill, work ethic, and “figure-it-out” mindset defined his career. A true jack of all trades, Larry had a gift for fixing, building, and improving just about anything he put his hands on.

Outside of work, Larry loved riding his Harley, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was deeply devoted to his dogs, Rocco and Rosie, who were constant companions and a daily source of joy. Larry was also known for his quick wit and legendary one-liner jokes- delivered dry, timed perfectly, and remembered long after.

He was especially devoted to gardening, taking pride in what he grew and the care he gave to it. A longtime, dependable presence whose services were widely appreciated.

Larry lived his life with consistency, loyalty, and humor, leaving behind stories that will be told for years and laughter that will echo whenever his name is mentioned.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 28, 2026, in honor of Larry’s birthday. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate a life well lived. For event details and location (to be determined), please contact Larry’s brother Gary Rhoades via Facebook or Larry’s daughter Laura Rhoades by phone at (614)805-7629.
